Last week, eight of the eleven TREAD PhD candidates participated in the EGU conference in Vienna.
They contributed five posters and five oral presentations to three sessions focusing on different aspects of seismic risk science.
Most of the contributions were part of Session TS 3.2 Across the time scales, from earthquakes to earthquake cycle, organized by some TREAD senior members and one of the PhD candidates, Rachel Preca Trapani, who also presented her work advances. This session resulted from the merging of two proposed sessions, one of which the focused on the TREAD-project. It hold the presentations included those by PhD candidates John Gallego-Montoya, Houda Delleci, Julián Montejo, Khatereh Saghatforoush, Daniel Dreier and Maaike Fonteijn.
Additionally, Aurora Lambiase presented in session TS 1.8, Seismic and aseismic fault deformation, and Maaike Fonteijn in session TS3.4 Linking seismicity and tectonic processes at subduction and collision zones.
We are also delighted to announce that Julián Montejo and Aurora Lambiase received the OSPP award (Outstanding Student and PhD Candidate Presentation) for their contributions to the EGU2025 edition last year.
